"TSH hormone" the controller of thyroid gland
Thyroid controls all the major metabolic activities of the body and thyroid is controlled by "TSH" i.e. thyroid stimulating hormone. This TSH hormone is a peptide hormone which is synthesized as well as secreted by the Thyrotrope cells inside the anterior pituitary. This TSH regulates the working of thyroid gland and thyroxine hormone.
The hormone TSH activates or stimulates the thyroid gland to secrete T4 hormone or thyroxine and T3 or Triiodothyronine hormone. The production and regulation of TSH hormone is controlled by TRH hormone (Thyrotropin releasing hormone) which is synthesized and secreted by Hypothalamus and this hormone reach to anterior pituitary gland via superior hypophyseal artery. Sometimes to decrease the production of TSH somatostatin is secreted by hypothalamus which has anti TSH production effects on pituitary.
As both T3 and T4 hormone has major role in the entire growth and development of a human body. These two hormones present in the blood also has a great effect on pituitary gland, when the level of T3 and T4 hormone are less in the blood then pituitary increase the production of TSH and when the amount of T3 and T4 hormone is normal or exceed in blood then pituitary slow down the secretion of TSH hormone.
For a healthy body T3 and T4 should be in adequate amount in the blood and if this imbalance then major problem related to thyroid malfunctioning occurs in the body. Therefore to know the level of T3 and T4 in the blood TSH test is conducted which easily display whether out thyroid is well functioning or there is any disturbance in thyroid functioning. The normal level of TSH hormone in blood for adults is in between 0.4mlU/L to 5.0mlU/L whereas in children the normal TSH level in the blood should be from 0.4 to 4.0mlU/L. the TSH level of a newly born child and developing child are different.
If any type of symptoms related to thyroid problem like weakness, fatigue, low B.P., depression, body pain, weight loss or gain is seen one should go for TSH test to know its TSH level. If children are responding in dull manner, do not eat properly, body weight is continuously decreasing, rough skin and laziness then consult to doctor and check there TSH level as due to malfunctioning of thyroid gland these symptoms occurs.
The TSH test shows level of T3, T4 and Thyroid antibodies in the blood. If the level of these hormones is normal it is well and good but if the level is fluctuating then one should consult to doctor and go for proper checkup.
Thyroid related problems can be cured through various means like taking iodine rich supplement, nutritious diet, exercise and medication.
Beside all these means, thyromine is also a perfect natural supplement for the treatment of thyroid malfunctioning and thyroid related problems. This supplement without any side effect control the T3 and T4 hormone level of the body as well as controls the normal regulation of TSH hormone.
